The industry standard is straight unmatted i do not know why adobe always has had premultiplied matted as the default. Alpha channels can come pre matted shaped or as straight with transparency anti aliased only when composited. With premultiplied or matted channels transparency information is stored in the alpha channel and also in the visible rgb channels which are multiplied with a background color.
